I tried both the hemi and the 4.7 when perusing Dodge trucks. The 4.7 actually was quite strong. However, the additional cost for the hemi is probably worth it should you ever want to trade or sell the truck. You may never use all the power the hemi could put out but it would be there if you wanted.
A Corvette will go 190-200mph depending on the engine. I doubt that many owners ever attempt to verify this, but it makes great conversation in a bar. ("My car can do 200mph!")

Default I saw that too - looks like HP curve is shifted up

Never heard of a gas motor not doing this?? Horsepower = (Torque X RPM) / 5252. Therefore Horsepower must ALWAYS equal torque at 5252RPM, universally, regardless of what engine is being dynoed. Looking at the chart in the link I can't make Chryslers HP and tourqe numbers jive. I do love my HEMI the numbers just dont calculate out.
You are correct. I noticed the same thing after I posted. This is the second plot that Chrysler has shown for the 5.7 and both have some issues with it. Looks like they fixed the torque curve but screwed up the HP one. The claimed HP is 390 and the charts shows more like 415. Seems like the HP curve is shifted up by one division? If I imagine the HP plot slid down one division, then the HP looks around 390 and the lines cross at 5252.

PLEASE get the HEMI! I did not and I regret it and I only have 900 miles on the truck but I also have a leveling kit, and 35 trail grapplers on it. (2010 crew cab 4x4 slt with the 3.55 gears) This truck feels soooooooo sluggish off of the line and my fuel mileage is roughly 12.0 and that's about 70% highway. I seriosuly regret not getting the TRX with the lower gears or just getting the damn HEMI and I'm sure I would be bragging about it especially at the bar...lol!
Seriously drive the two if you can but in the end get what makes you happy!
