Programmer?
I have had no issues, ping or whatever with the superchips flashpaq. It is a 'claimed' 25HP increase with the 93 perf tune but I have never dyno'd the truck. Got for 285 from Truck Customizers last year and this thing is the best mod so far for such a small $$. Had to go back to stock last week for a dealer visit and you can certainly tell the difference. Running the 93 octane tune, knocking off torque management to 8%, shift points set at 6000 rpm and disabling MDS, combined with the 3.92 gears make this truck a great daily driver for me.
I have had tunes with these Superchips and SCT flash tuners on Ford and now Dodge trucks and as long as you return to stock prior to any dealer visit and do a few drive cycles, never had any questions asked at all. And at the dealer visit last week, I asked if there was an updated pcm flash since I can't stand this MDS mode ( dumping into 4 cylinder mode at 30 MPH on back roads is just plain stupid, be great if you could set it to come on at 60+ mph for highway long road trips ) they had it hooked up to Starscan, checked for any error codes and there were no updates for my PCM code since the original dealer reflash last year for "MDS and driveability improvements". No hassles at all from dealer.
The Superchips also has easy internet update - just plug it into usb port, added the trans shifts a while back as well as just let it update itself last weekend before putting the tune back on truck after dealer visit.
I almost went with Diablo or Bullydog last year, lots of good posts but a few guys were getting ping issues and shifting issues so I just went the Superchips route. I'd buy another one again.

Listen, when it comes to a programmer for these trucks, there is really only ONE question you need to ask yourself- Am I going to need custom tuning?
As of right now superchips does not allow for custom flashes. Diablo Sport, and Trinity both support custom tunes written by your mechanic, or someone who knows what they are doing.
In the early days on these trucks, Diablo did indeed have issues. CarGuyOhio can and probably will elaborate on this.
As far as I am concerned, you only need to be thinking about Diablo and Super Chips at this point and time.

But I also like some of the features and pricetag of the Superchips Cortex unit
You can do the same on the Sport as you can the Trinity. The only real difference between the two is the little BS features that it comes with such as an HP estimator, and a 1/4 mile time estimator. Not enough to justify the extra $300 that they want for it.
Indeed thats why Im having a hard time choosing.
Meh. If you have an iPod touch or an iPhone then you can spend $12 and get an app that will do the same thing. Much cheaper than the extra $300. Although, the upside to the trinity is that you have the capability to take the tuner with you to another vehicle. Yes, as long as it's Dodge, all tuners can do this, but the Trinity has the programming to also flash to a Ford and Chevy all in the same unit whereas the Sport cannot. Of course, you can't tune multiple vehicles at the same time, but it is a neat feature nonetheless.
