Default Ram tailgate strength - snowmobile

Wondering if anyone has been transporting a sled in the crewcab bed/tailgate? I used to haul one around in my shortbox F150, but it had another foot of bed to carry the weight.

I don't know anything about snowmobiles but if there weight is comparable to a large atv then it shouldn't be a problem.

The sleds we have weigh 600-700lbs, but they are touring sleds so they are longer than an ATV.

Default Crew Cab?

Don't know about the Crew Cab but I hauled my crossfire (136" Track) in my quad cab no problem. I'd say you'd be ok. Just make sure to strap it in good. One nice thing unloading it the track is long enough you can just back it out onto the ground.

I dont think weight will be the issue. I have carried 2 sv650s in my truck multiple times with no problems except for the sag, but your tailgate plastic cap will get torn up and most likely break like mine has.... wish they had a metal replacement so I could line-x it

The one thing you'll want to watch is when you drag the sled out of the pickup be careful the carbides don't catch the tailgate cap and rip it off......don't ask!

Could you cut a chunk of half inch plywood the size of the tailgate to cover it when loading your sled to keep your tailgate cap from getting ruined?

Been totin' around my ATV in my bed for almost five years, with my toolbox, the rear wheels sit right on the end of the tailgate, almost all the weight sits behind the rear axle. No problem yet.

I fit my yamaha apex in my bed. Strap it in good! The majority of the weight is in the front.
