ReadyLift 2" leveling kit questions ... ??
I've read quite a few of the threads regarding lift kits for the 4th Gen Ram. But, I've not seen some answers to my questions regarding the lift I purchased recently. I have a 2" leveling kit from ReadyLift.
The 2" ReadyLift kit for the front of the Ram is extremely well made IMO. Seems relatively EZ to install (not by me, of course), and should not effect the stock ride. Which is a plus.
I run the stocker 20" tires and don't plan on changing these out. They are fine, altho not as aggressive as I would like. But, they are quite and ride well.
One question is, where do I get the kit installed along with the required front alignment? I'm not sure Dodge dealers would be happy installing the ReadyLilft kit.
And, some folks have said that installation of this kit would void the warranty on the truck. But, Dodge has a 2" kit (which does not look as simple to install, nor as sturdy as RL's kit) and it does not effect the warranty.
Anyone have this RL 2" front kit installed? If so, what have your experiences been.
Thanx, guys.

I have the exact same lift on my truck. Works and looks great! It allowed me to put 315 Goodyear DuraTracs on my truck with no rubbing. The ride is just fine, haven't really noticed any difference, although some people have complained about 4 wheel drive shutter after installing various leveling kits... I haven't experienced this though. The 2" kit really levels the truck out, I hate how my 4x4 would squat like a 2 wheel drive truck.
As far as getting it installed, just go to a local truck accessory shop, they should only charge you for labor and the alignment, since you have the parts. If you don't know one, just Google truck accessories and your zip code to find some, and give them a call to see if they will install it for you. Mine cost about $250 for install + alignment.

Soooo ... back to the initial thread question about the leveling kit.
I checked a several places that do suspension, brakes, tires, and such. No one here in my area has done anything like the ReadyLift 2" leveling kit. But, the place that did my wife's snows remembered me and said they'd do it. They are a tire/brake/suspension place.
Tech looked Online and found that Dodge says that each side should take 2.5 hours ! You kidding me? Anyway, I got them to commit to $250 to do the install of the ReadyLift 2" deal including the $89 for the front alignment. Of course that could change if it takes longer than 2 hours for the installation.
I am concerned that the 'tech' was wondering if there was "enough slack in the various sensors for ABS, tire speed, etc" .... apparently he did not know much about the Ram's front suspension. Neither do I.
Anyway .... I'm nervous about this installation. The tech looked at the directions for a while, went Online and then we said what we said.
Anybody want to chime in here ??? Crikey !

me personally i would look at the work after they finished to make sure that all brake lines and wires have slack. I'd be nervous to, i put a level kit on my 02 ram 2wd by myself no knowledge what so ever and it took me and a buddy with some knowledge less than 2 hours easy. what i'm probably going to do is buy the superlift 2.5 kit or the bilstien level shocks and do it myself then pay for a alignment.

OK ... the ReadyLIft 2" leveling kit was installed today. I was a bit concerned as the shop had not done anything like this, but it went without a hitch. Took about 2 hours (or so) and I was charged $250 + tax for the install and the front end alignment. I told the shop that $250 was going rate and that 2 hours was the time folks had quoted. Go figure. I'm happy.
The truck looks much better in my opinion. Much more aggressive than the snoop dog, nose down look the stocker Laramie had. The ride seems the same to me. I think that there is a bit more lean on cornering, but that is expected. The 'look' over the hood from the cabin is different, too ... more like my F250 of a decade ago. You can't really see over the hood.
Guess now, I'll have to stop at Cabela's and get a gun rack, eh.
I'm hoping that the kit allows me to hook up my Western plow easier ... dismounting as well ... this was the primary purpose of the ReadyLift kit. I just switched the plow over from a F150 and had to drive up on patio pavers to get the plow off and on. Sucks. I hope this makes a difference ... and, of course, it looks much better. The measurement is exactly 2" taller at the fender flare. Kewl.
