MagnaFlow muffler
I need some help. I have decided on a Magnaflow 18" muffler to swap out my stock muffler. My search has led me to Magnaflow part # 11259. Can any member tell me if that is the muffler I need to do a more-or-less straight swap? I believe that unit has 3"outlet/inlet but offset. Local muffler shop said they would install it along with any extra pipe I might need for $50. I have single in and single out and want to stay that way. I just want to be double sure the new muffler pipe sizes will match my existing pipe. Also, any ideas where I can get a good price for the new muffler?? Thanks
Are you ordering through the shop? They should be able to order the correct inlet/outlet size for you. Mine did, after looking at the truck. They did the whole install for $200, so the price was reasonable (I had them install the Magnaflow 18" as well).
I am ordering the muffler myself. The place where I'm getting it done only carries Flowmaster. However, the owner is a friend and he said I could probably get a better price off the Internet than he could from a supplier. I didn't wish to, "push" it since he has taken, very good care of me with other repairs the last 4 years. This morning I got a quote on the Internet of $80 (includes 10% veteran discount) for the muffler, if it's the correct one. The quote came from, "PlanetMagnaflow.com"

Well, that's what I went ahead and ordered Monday. Should be here today or tomorrow. Thanks all.
Just curious and thankfull to come across this post.. Does the Mufflex system offer any benefit over buying the actual magnaflow muffler ?

the mufflex is a bolt on muffler same as the factory unit. if you go with mufflex you can put it on yourself, and in the future you can take it back off, and put your stock one back on. with a muffler shop, they are going to weld the new one in so you're SOL if you want to remove it easily.
