A quick fix might be to get some EDPM from a pond shop and cover up the area. I used EDPM for a fender liner 5 years ago and its still going. Easy to work with and Firestone makes the best.
I don't know if this is possible as I am recovering from shoulder surgery and can't really crawl under my truck. I have for over 20 years used window type screen to protect my radiator from bugs and rocks. Is there any way a fellow could take a piece of this type of screen and somehow lodge up in there or tie it up in there to protect the area that is getting clogged up with snow??? I know the screen has holes but I'm pretty sure it would quickly clog up with snow.
Just had this issue in my 2010 sport. Was able to pull out the little tab next to the shifter and stick a pen down there to unlock the shifter to allow me to shift into neutral and start the truck...
