'09 quad cab SLT here....we just had almost 3 ft of snow in less than 3 days and then freezing rain. Drove through lots of deep snow and then major amounts of slush and dense wet snow. Haven't had any problems like this at all. 2 friends in the area with '09 SLT crew cabs and no complaints from them either....

YES...but I would use a heavier screen, maybe even 1/4 " mesh. I'm sure that you could put some type of splash guard somewhere under there. I would take it to your fav oil change shop or even better...muffler shop and get it up in the air to look at. I'm sure a muffler tech would be happy to share his ideas with you and make one for you...it's a thought! And that way it would look professional and you can spread your findings to help others.
