I have seen the navigation system in the 09 rams do this once or twice, but not that frequently. It usually happened around the same time that the screen decided to freeze up. Actually, the entire system became non responsive and bugged out just like you described. I would think that it has something to do with a loose end in the software, and I don't think that Dodge/Chrysler has provided a fix for it yet. It's probably an easy fix, but for us the end user, it would be hard to tackle with out knowing the software specs.

You might call your service department and ask them about it.

my 2010 Laramie did this often. The Nav radios are usually on national back order for 4+ weeks. they replaced my stereo twice before Dodge lemon lawed it.

The 730N radios are on backorder because they are in production for new upgrades. They're supposed to be available again in Jan.

Mine reboots occasionally. What's really frustrating is here lately it forgets/loses the presets.

I've had various issues with mine over the months: reboots, freezes, not starting up at all. It also one time rebooted and displayed an error code that basically said cricital system error. Turned the truck off and then back on and it came back on fine. It also wiped my MP3s a couple of times.

After all that the dealer replaced it just last week. I'm out of country for the next 7 months, but the wife says the new one works fine so far.

My nav gets lost sometimes - it says I'm someplace else, usually a couple of miles off, then after about a 1/2 hour it'll reset itself.

Just last Friday the bluetooth wouldn't disconnect, even after I shut the truck off the radio unit stayed on and kept counting the seconds of the call that I had hung up on 15 minutes ago. Luckily I was near a Dodge dealership and had the tech look at it. He couldn't figure it out so he pulled the fuse and plugged it back in after about 30 seconds and the radio reset. He said that he's never seen anything like that happen before, but he said that he sees all sorts of strange things with the electronics.

Welcome to the computer age.

I have had similar issues with my NAV as well...especially with it being a few miles off. It happens every time i go to Detroit. Now that might be a "city" issue. Another big issue i have is getting music onto the hard drive. I cannot get iTunes into the radio using either the rip method or USB. iTunes uses the m4a codec. ANyone have luck with iTunes?
