Just wondering if anyone yet has installed a set of American Racing headers on their 4th gen. Ho9w tough was the install??? You happy with them and what kind of power you making. I read any where from 25 to 40 rwhp.

 

I was contemplating but I talked to Doug Thorely Headers today and they will be making them again in 6 weeks for half the price. The 08 headers wont fit because of the port shape.

 

I have heard bad things about the Thorely headers. Some of ythe cheaper headers are not worth the savings as the quality steel is not that great nor are the welds holding up.

 

what other brands? the only ones im aware of making them are Thorley and American Racing

 

I think Kooks is either ready to come out with them or has them already. There are several cheap China knock offs out there for around 800 to 1200 bucks. Most of the folks I talk to tell me American Racing makes the highest quality headers for our vehicles and they will last. That is a big deal after about four years when the cheap ones are turning to rust and the weilds are breaking.
