Default K&N CAI Review

I installed my K&N last night on the Hemi. Overall, the install was very straight forward, and easy to read instructions. I think the hardest part was removing the Mass Air sensor out of the old intake. I think the components of the kit were high quality, and everything lined up perfect. I am very happy with the structural aspect of the intake.

Now my review of the intake itself. I would say if your looking to keep your cab quiet when flooring it, this would not be the intake for you, its extremely loud. However, under regular driving conditions, I can definitely tell its breathing much easier, the throttle feels lighter and I am excited to see what the MPGs could be. I will get back to you on those results. Under WOT, the extra horsepower is certainly there, and my shifts were a bit longer and deeper. In all, I would definitely recommend this intake to anyone, there isn't any issues with it other than the volume of noise it creates under WOT.

Describe a little bit more what noise it make on WOT? If it's more engine sound, I don't think it's a negative point.

Minus the muffler, the intake itself is definetely noteable. It even whistles when coasting.

The whistle noise sounds like it could be air leaking through a crack...possibly your CAI cover is not closed or sealed tight like it should be...I would check that out to get rid of the whistle. Or...it could be but most likely not..."a vacuum leak". I'm sure it's probably your CIA leaking..it doesn't take much to make that kind of whistle.
