This mode of "Manuely Locked - Arm Alarm" is how the security system works
Read the owners manuel on how to activate the alarm system,
as ther is a brief description in there about it.
After doing this, the LED mirror/puddle lights should shut off very quickly

So did this method work out for you shreve...????

Well Hemi I didn't get the chance as it was pouring down rain when I got to the house.... Without a doubt I believe you are correct...

I have the same issue. Sometimes the puddle light goes out in 10sec and sometimes they stays on forever. 8 minutes seems excessive. I will bring to dealer soon because it does not seem right.

Had the same issue from the start with my 2011 1500. Took it to the dealer and was told it was in need of a "software" update. Whatever they did worked and now my puddle lights turn off within 15 seconds every time.

There is a flash update on the door module to address this exact problem with the puddle lights

My lights do the same thing. It seems like they stay on for 10+ minutes sometimes. As long as they dont drain my battery they can do w/e they want. I wish there was a switch for them though, it would be nice to be able to turn them on when on dark backroads.

Mine have stopped working all together. I have a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500. I took the module out from underneath the mirror and it seems water has gotten up in there and caused alot of corrosion.

Anybody else have this problem?

I have a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 and the passenger side stopped working, but the driver side still works. Anyone have any ideas on what I should do?

It could be a lamp switch, ground or feed circuit. I assume you already checked if it was a bulb issue. You will need access to wiring diagrams or have your servicing dealer inspect/diagnose issue.
