My very basic ST with vinyl seats and rubber floors was prewired. I bought a cruise control kit from Rostra, installed the switch in the steering wheel and plugged the three wires from the cruise switch into the terminal connector under the air bag and that was it.

But... The switch that came with the Rostra kit has three wires coming off of it. The switch from the dealer does not. The big trick with the OEM switch is finding out which wire goes where, and then finding the same kind of small terminals that are used in that terminal connector to make your own wires.

I'm working on an idea at the moment and if it works out I'll post about it here.

I have a idea i might try...... the journey, nitro etc has the same cruise control switch kit as our trucks. You can buy the steering wheel setup with the cruise control switch and the wiring for like 89 bucks. I think that might work from what i have seen.

Ok figured it out. I got a steering wheel from the local junkyard for 100.00 and took the harness and installed it in mine and it works. Note you have to remove the pins from the journey steering wheel plug and install the pins in the Dodge Ram one. Def. alot cheaper than buying the Rostra kit!!!
