Default Dash Cover

I'm looking for a good dash cover for my truck. Want to stay away from those see-through types that don't really lay flat. Any ideas?

I use Dash Topper in a couple of my cars, stays fairly flat and keeps the sun from cooking my dash. About $50.

Most communities have custom embroidery shops that could put whatever you want on a dash mat.

I don't know that this gen truck will really need a dash mat if you keep the windshield covered in the summer time... I mean, it's not a polymer plastic like it has been in the past, so as long as you keep the leather/pleather conditioned, I wouldn't see an issue from it.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I thought this was the reason why they are going to the soft touch dashes like that in the first place...

I've never really examined my dash. Just bought a dash cover when I bought the truck and plopped it on trying to keep the sun from cooking it and it cracking. So our dashes aren't plastic like all cars? What are they then?

Dodge is making a push toward having what they call soft touch dashes that are plastic dashes covered in a foam and then leather upholstered like your seats would be. Now that I think about it, I wonder if all the rams are getting this dash or if it's just the sports and the Laramies...

This may go without saying but a word of warning from someone who has owned a few of these. Be careful of the color and texture. I purchased a tan one to match the interior. Even with its slightly darker color the reflection while driving was pretty bad. Major eye fatigue. There was just something about the "sheen" of the fabric that reflected a ton of light.

If I were to ever buy another it would have to be flat black not even a dark gray.

Anyway just my 2 cents.
