89 would be fine. 91 is a waste on a Ram unless you have major mods.

As an aside, I ran a K&N filter on my carbureted ATV for one year. I found that the lower induction resistance gave me a significant bog at off idle. I didn't notice it at first, nor after removing the K&N filter, cleaning and re-oiling. It took me a while to understand this. After someone else noticed black soot coming out the exhaust I became convinced that a freshly oiled filter actually increased the induction resistance, offering the engine a richer mixture. As the motor ran it slowly sucked the oil away, eventually giving me a leaner mixture and heavy hesitation.


When I went back to the factory filter all ill effects disappeared, including the occasional backfire.
