Default Not Happy with the K&N intake

I am unhappy with the cold air intake from K&N. It truly took away the aggressive noise of a v8 and sounds like a dodge neon under WOT. I do not recommend if your not after a loud hum that sounds like a 4 banger.

Add a good exhaust - then you won't hear it!

Odd, my AFE CAI really gave my engine compartment an awesome growl, esp WOT. There is even a nice "whoosh" when first taping the throttle. I would have thought the K&N would do the same, they are both very similiar in design.

I have the K&N and I love mine. It has an awesome growl and the woosh sound of air going in under wot. I would highly recomend the cai.

Plus, I can't say for sure there was actually any HP gains that were noticeable. I think with the tuner and exhaust already in, there wasn't much room for improvement with the intake.

with these trucks a cold air intake will only gain you 3 to maybe 5 hp tops. you wont notice the difference. Same goes for a muffler swap.

I honestly feel as though I lost power, because of the cutting out thing under WOT. Too much air not enough spark. Even if i got that part fixed, just not happy with the noise. I am not dissing anyone who has one, but its just my personal experience. Autoanything said they will refund me.

When u say to much air and not enough spark...how do u fix that...I have a 2010 ram 1500 with k&n CAI and I feel I have the same problem...also if im stopped and in gear and if I power brake it so to speak...I can hear the motor take a big gulp of air and a spark knock at the same time...whats causing it and how do I fix that. Thanks
