Default TPS is flashing

MY EVIC is saying my right rear tire is low. However its usually only 1lb below the others. Right now its COLD here -8 my tires read 29-30-30-31 at start then after driving its 32-32-32-31 but the light stays on. I have restarted the truck several times thinking it would clear. I know you would think put air in but my question is why wont it go off when it goes up 2lb's and passes the other tires starting point and those are not flashing? Summer time they almost always read 35.

I just want to understand how the TPS works and how it clears?

I run 37-40 in mine cold. And I upped to this for winter. Maybe the low one is just right on the edge of the psi sensor.

It takes the computer a bit to learn that the pressure has gone back up. My light was on this morning. 20 degrees outside. I drove for about 5 miles before it went off. Just driving will heat up the tire and increase the pressure.
Happens all the time in the winter to me.

Can that be BAD for the tire? If I put more air in then itwill expand when its warmer out. and I can have too much then.. Sound petty but I dont want to be dicking with it all the time.

Take your tire pressure`s up to 40psi (hot tire pressure) Light will go out in a few seconds or minutes of driving
When the tires cool off, pressure will be close to 35/36psi.
At 28 to 30psi, most will activate the TPS monitor in the EVIC
You can have your stealership raise or lower the monitor settings to what you prefer...though i dont recommend doing this.
My opinion, leave it set to the factory settings, as that will warn you way before damaging a tire if the air pressure starts dropping. If you lower the TPS sensors programmed settings, you`ll ruin a tire long before the TPS monitor will detect it.

well HOT tire pressure is not an option right now, it just went above 0. Even driving temp right now is COLD. I would have to park it in a heated place for a day to thaw it. So, in a COLD none driving state what should I set them to?

I'm pretty sure "hot" pressure refers to a tire that's warm from being driven, not ambient temperature. You should be able to air up once you've driven a bit... just check the pressures through the EVIC and you'll see them climb as the air in the tires warms from driving.

Now if you are getting your air from one of those 25 cent pumps is that air gonna be cold, will it make a diff if you get your air from a compressor that is inside a warm garage?

Perfect! Just add air to your cold tires, to maximum cold pressure, on the door post.
