Interesting that you say that.....I am a couple hours southwest of Toronto and we just got a huge dumping of snow. Close to 3 ft. in just under 3 days. I was just talking to my friends about these splash guards after that huge snowfall and they had no complaints about them holding snow or slush at all.

I have the factory flap`s, yes they`ll hold snow & ice. Easy fix, PAM cooking spray once in a while, wont stick anymore.
Also, factory flaps will rub the paint off, quik fix, 3M clear bodyguard tape. Can get it at paint/body supply place

Now I see what you mean. I was under the impression that the side facing the tire would be flat....that would make sense. Got them home and opened the box and theres a nice little pocket molded into the inside for snow and mud to pack itself inside of. Not really the greatest design ever is it? I guess I will have to decide now whether they go back or not. I guess the last couple time I've looked at my friends splash guards they must've been packed full of snow because I completely thought they were flat on the inner side.

Anyones whos installed these, I've read a couple different opinions. If I decide to go ahead with the install, some people say just use the existing holes and don't drill extra holes like the instructions say....some people say you need to drill the extra holes to make the guard sturdy.

Opinions? Experience?

Had them for 2 winters plus this one and never had an issue. I am seeing the paint wear but the dealer installed them so they will have to tend to that issue. If they don't I will sick Customer Service on them they are pretty good at getting **** done now.

Ok, Medic1. I've got you covered with some pictures of a 2009 Silver Laramie with factory molded splash guards that are black in color.

The molded ones look prettier than the HD ones, but for better coverage and no paint damage you might want to consider the Mopar HD flaps.

I first installed mine with the existing holes only. They weren't very sturdy so I took them off and drilled the holes. They will scratch your paint so I would take others advice and use the 3M tape. I wish I would have thought about that before I installed them. Most people don't notice the scratches, but I DO.

Thanks for the pictures. They don't look as out of place on the silver as I would have thought.

OK, so I ended up getting them installed. The fit of the back flap looks a little odd to me. Being molded mudflaps I expected them to somewhat follow the contours of the truck/wheel well liner. The front fits perfectly to the contour of the plastic wheel well liner (see image 1), but the rear flap has a contour in it that doesn't even remotely match the wheel well liner (see image 2) and as a result fits poorly and doesn't even snug up to the outside of the body/fender (see image 2&3)

Is anyone elses like this?
