Question Engine Cleaning Question

I'm going to be installing a Volant CAI in the next week or two and I'd like to clean things up under the hood when I do. That said, the thought of just spraying all over the place with a hose freaks me out... in the old days you covered the distributor and you were golden.

Can anyone share any tips or tricks about doing a good engine bay cleaning without frying the electronics?

Some time with some shop rags and some simple green and detail spray should do it..

You could cover your PCM with a paper sack or something like that if you're really worried about it.

Thanks. Doesn't anybody just spray the engine compartment down with engine cleaner and hose the whole thing off anymore? That always got all the nooks and crannies clean that you'd not always get to with a rag.

Spray it!!!!!!!!!

What do you think happens when it rains and your driving at 70 mph.
Just don't spray directly up the fuse box or PCM.
Done mine with no problems.

Don't know what the weather is like in NY, but it is below 0 here. Might want to leave the engine cleaning until summer

I'm jealous... it's probably 40 degrees and been raining almost 24 hours. I'd pay to see some snow!
