I'm going on 2nd truck and 7 years total with Undercover units. Keeps everything bone dry, lockable, easy to lift (has piston assists). Kind of a pain to take off and put back on though. Pd something like $650 I think. Made out of 3M material that they put on the back of mirrors, etc. Had my last one 6 years and as long as you use 303 Protectorant on them a couple of times over the summer, they stay looking like new. Also very strong.

I have the extang solid fold... So far it has kept everything dry in both rain and snow. It is above the bed rails,to me it looks tough. I paid $600 installed... Anyone else have this cover???

Hi Ross,

I was considering this cover, but read on other forums about water leak problems. Those could have been older posts. However, have you had any leaking issues?

Thanks

Peter

Hi,
I have not had any issues with this cover. Everything stays dry.. I had a soft cover on another truck a few years back.. It always leaked. I picked this cover because it sits on top of the bed rails. Other covers are flush and have a drain system. I thought those covers would have a greater chance for leakage..

Just ordered the Undercover SE for my 2009 Laramie crew cab. Best deal I found was online at the UnderCover factory outlet. Paid $720.10 with free shipping, no tax, free tail gate seal and free bed mat. Still has not delivered yet, but looks to be easy to install.

My local guys wanted $785 installed with no extras as of 12/10.

After researching this forum as well as other forums out there including the F-150 camp and the Toyota camp. Everyone, no matter the truck badge, likes the undercover...

Thanks Ross. I was looking at the flush covers as well but don't like the idea of the drain hose. Anyway, will take a closer look at the extang solid fold.

The extang has worked out great for me. I went with the over the rail for the extra height. It's easy to take off or on. My does leak a little in a heavy rain, but no enough to be a problem.

FWIW, I had an Extang Tri-Fold hard cover on my '07 Ram and it was watertight, and with a locking tailgate you couldn't break into the bed with anything less than an air chisel!

Thanks Gary. I have orders one and it will be in on Thursday. Looking forward to see what it looks like on my truck.
