Default Warranty work on Canadian truck in USA?

I'm on a long trip in the USA, and I hear that there is an advisory on the hvac for my truck, and I also have another problem that should be warranty covered

is it possible to get that recall type work done at a US Dodge dealer and have it taken care of trouble-free by Chrysler Canada? how about the warranty work?

Should be fine, my mom and dad have a house in Arizona they go to in the winter, and he has never had a problem getting work done on his GMC. I don't see why a Dodge would be different.

They WILL NOT do warranty work in the USA on a Canadian vehicle or vice verse. Those vehicles are not in the same data/computer system etc. GM has a 6 month wait before they will.Use your computer search engine and there is a site that address on all auto manufacturers and they are all different.

i'm inclined to agree with hounddogg on this one. however, the HVAC recall is designed to prevent more expensive problems that dodge would eventually have to deal with (and pay for). i might spend a few minutes to call a good service advisor to see if the could make an exception.
if you are going to be here a while it might be worth it.

The dealer doing the work can not get paid.Dosen't matter what it is.Recall or any kind of warranty. There is no logistical support in either country for one or the other.

that's a shame, I am going to be down here for awhile still, guess the recall thing will have to wait

and my door handle problem it looks like I will have to try to figure out how to fix it myself

So I decide to leave my nice freezing home in Canada and decide to take a trip to Arizona to spend the wnter and I drive my RAM and the engine gives out you are telling me that they wont fix it under warranty . What will they do tow it to Canada? I think they will fix it I know I had an 85 GMC pickup and something broke on the front end and it was fixed in Detroit under warranty. Time have changed?
I think it is only void if I were to sell the truck or put a US title on it then its void but I don't think I would be spending my time down there seems to be getting a bit dangerous anyway. I see pictures of the Mexican border.....Why not do like a prison fence if you really wanna get someone along with the new system they are installing that lets them know when someone crosses it. You trap them between two fences but you need to be sure the fences are far enough apart and high enough that you have time to get there before they make it across. or why not put sharpshooters every so yards and start pinging them off like rodents that is what they are doing to people going there.

Have you checked your maintenance book for your truck? This is the relevant excerpt for my truck

IN CANADA:
Warranty service must be done by an authorized Dodge Retailer. If you move or
are travelling in Canada, warranty service may be requested from any authorized
DaimlerChrysler Retailer, but preferably one who sells the same Dodge brand
vehicle as yours.
IN THE UNITED STATES (INCLUDING U.S. POSSESSIONS AND
TERRITORIES) AND MEXICO:
If you are travelling temporarily in the United States or Mexico, and your
vehicle remains registered in Canada, your DaimlerChrysler Canada
Warranty will still apply. Service may be requested at any authorized
Dodge Retailer.

I bet reps have to be involved and possibly purchase orders given from one dealer to the next on a case by case.I was four years in a Chrysler dealer and when a vin punched through on a Canadian Gran Cherokees and other vehicles they were invalid and stated no warranty. Its not just Chrysler but Honda,Acura,KIA,Nissan and a slew of others.I bet you cannot get a door handle(small stuff) done. One manufacture states YOU pay for the repair and when you get home it will be reviewed for reimbursement on a case by case basis.I found a WEB page with all the facts on Canada To U.S. etc.Ford its only some of the warranty not power-train can be done.BMW says none of the perks(maintance included in warranty) will be honored. Some of this I think has to do with dollar value and to prevent Canadians from buying here(cheaper) and driving across into Canada.Canadians never had the Lifetime warranty either.
