So far you guys have drummed up excuses for everything faulty in these trucks, from the Hemi Tick, the smelly air conditioners, the roof leaks, rusty bumpers, peeling chrome, and from the rear ends to the tie rod ends. When are you guys going to take responsibility for your actions and do something for the costumer? Like honor your five star service...isn't that supposed to come first...isn't that what you guys claim you are all about? What you are actually saying about the tie rod end is that it is just barely strong enough to hold up as long as you don't modify your truck because it's not strong enough to take any abuse like a Ford or a Chevy could so it will void the warranty if you do. Just like everything else from an air filter to an oil filter which you would claim is the fault of engine failure because it's not a Chrysler part or they didn't put it on. I saw that with my own eyes while getting my truck serviced. Poor guy with a truck had engine failure and they were trying to blame it on the oil filter...Chrysler's warranty and service is a joke to say the least!
Well somebody needs to slap that stupid Radio guy...seems that poor ChryslerTechBC was right all along, lol!

Default You kidding

A properly installed reasonable sized lift should never break a tie rod end under normal use. If a 35 inch tire is too much for a tie rod end then all you need is a good pot hole and it won't be enough for a stock tire either. I ultimately had an install problem but what a disappointment when some dealers would just say it's the lift when that was not even a reasonable response. If the lift causes the problem I get no warranty but if it does not I do. Many dealers lift brand new trucks before they sell them and dodge manufactures the power wagon with bigger tires and more clearance but the same front end as the 2500. If your breaking tie rods with 35s you either have a lot of miles on your truck or another problem. Not a lift problem if you ask me.

Sorry about your issues, but I tend to agree with a few of the others. This issue is not likely Dodge related. There are many 2500s on the road now and never seen anything this severe.

Advise, Forget about getting to much help from the manufacturer on suspension/drive train issues after altering it. Have a few 4x4 shops check it over, get multiple mechincs adivse as to whether they feel it is OK now. Or sell.

Default bad tie rod

I had the same experience friday when my left tie ro let go. I had just headed out to start plowing pulled into a house backed up and no steering. I had trucked towed to Dealer. I received a call told me they could fix it today and it would be $422. I said it should be under warranty and told me no as I had been in a collision.I asked him what he was talking about and that I had hit nothing. I was told that if i wanted it fixed today I had to pay for it and if not wait til Monday when the service manager was in. I didn't know all intelligent thought stopped when the service manager was out if there was any.

I called today Monday spoke to service manager and he would call me back. Received call and no way they will warranty it. His warranty boss came in and looked at it and also said no way they would cover it. He told me I could call the dealer I purchased it from and see if there was anything they could do. But he wants to earn my business he says!!

I spoke with the purchasing dealer and he called to see if there was going to be a recall. He said February but only 4500 and 5500 trucks?

I called dodge hotline and waiting for a call back from them at this point.

I went and picked the part up from repairing dealer to see the damage. I asked him if i had hit something where the damage was. He showed me the upper inner part where it was bent over from the stud. No other damage. There is no way you could even hit the part that was damaged. I will post picture.

Non the less I'm a bit pissed of at this point with a 2 month old ruck with 400 miles with this problem.

Good luck to everyone with this problem and hopefully no one is seriously hurt. Hopefully Dodge realizes there is a problem here and addresses it.

Truck is completley stock by the way

Need to tell dealer personal that others on these forums are posting the very same issue. Then tell them you want to speak to the REP ASAP.The service manager in a dealer is the one calling the shots on dubious warranty items. There is no WARRANTY BOSS.Him telling you to call selling dealer is a bunch of crap.He needs to handle the situation. That is what he is paid to do,not skate on a issue.Get the REP involved ASAP.

Go post your picture here http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...=photo_comment The recall is being updated to include 2500 & 3500 trucks. If you post a picture on the Ram Facebook a Ram rep will contact you quick. Turns out the assembly the tie rods are on was installed wrong from the factory on ALL 2010-11 2500-4500 trucks. What ever the steering bar is called requires adjustment after install and no trucks had that done. Don't pay a dealer anything.

Default Tie rod

That is exactly what my part looked like. Your dealer is an idiot. The reason that part broke was because it was installed cocked and not square. When it's cocked and you make a right hand turn the tie rod end needs to be able to roll without binding the stem on the housing. If it binds like yours did it will eventually fail. I sent my part to a lab to confirm my finding and the lab confirmed.

Dodge !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Put out a notice about this immediately before someone gets killed!!!

I would call them myself but I spent two months trying to get someone besides a call center on the phone and nothing!!
