2010 2500 two tie rod ends have fractured
I don't believe there is anything hidden. After the Toyota recalls and denials. Its big business trying to get facts straight. Takes a while. Too long from us looking in but maybe thats as good as it gets. I have a interesting thing going on with Chevy right now. My Corvette and others discharge the battery in 5 to 7 days. Stone dead. I posted on a already started thread about the issue. Darn if G.M customer service did not P.M. me and offer assistance as long as car electrical was basically stock. Mine is. I dropped it off at a Corvette super center yesterday. I'm waiting to see how this goes down. Oh and I bought mine used and its a 2006. I was floored they offered this.
It boils down to this if you ask me. The individuals at each Dodge dealership including service managers have no personal interest and unfortunately most don't take any becasue they work for an organization that is too big and has not figured out how to communicate with its dealers or does not care enough to communicate well. Every service manager I talked to felt disconnected from Dodge. The call center is full of people taking thousands of calls and taking notes. The few return calls I did get were from people reading from a script or prepared answer and when I tried to explain to them what the real problem was they acted like I was an idiot. Even had one guy yelling at me until we were both yelling. The solution that Dodge is ignoring in my opinion and that must be corrected is there must be a way for a consumer with a life threating issue on a vehicle to immediately be put on the phone with a Dodge Engineer or Executive to communicate the critical issue. As of now if you find a life threating issue with your vehilce you have no way to get that information to Dodge. The best you can do is file a complaint in some filing cabnet and wait for enough people to file for it to get attention and pray no one dies while waiting. I spent hours and days commited to getting in touch with a Dodge decision maker with no progress what so ever. That is insane and if Dodge won't change it they should be held accountable when it cost someone dearly!!!
I beleive if I could have talked to a Dodge decision maker they would have addressed the issue immedately but can't believe they don't have a way for a consumer to come direct with a critical issue.

Unfortunately they are all very similar in the internal operations. They should have not taken the customer service away to foreigners. They do respond a lot faster then yesteryear's. Like RRT's . They do a pretty good job at that. The manufacture also removed about 50% of the outside Reps. Part of the economy. Thats why some dealer service managers feel alone. Also the dealer service managers have to know how to use the system and also USE it. I'll say. All in all the car business in many many ways is far better then its been compared to the past. The vehicles are much better quality wise and longevity wise.
DODGE PLEASE CONTACT ME THROUGH THIS FOURM SO I CAN TELL YOU WHY YOUR TIE ROD ENDS ARE BREAKING BEFORE IT COST SOMEONE THEIR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have attemped to contact Dodge by every means possible and left many messages, and have never got a response.

It would behove them to have a customer reps monitoring these forums. I will say would some of us handle it like I've been seeing on the vette forum? Its all done by P.M. and no one has yet to bad mouth any of the vette customer service reps or really even gone into great detail if they weren't able to offer assistance. I've still not heard whats wrong with my car yet so I have no idea what G.M. rep has in mine on assistence. But it was their offer. I did not approch them.
I took my truck in for repairs to the back up camera and step bar. I inquired about the tie-rod end recall and was told my vin number was not in the recall.
I fractured a tie rod end already and spent months and thousands on lab work and repairs because Dodge denied responsibility even though my truck had less than 20,000 miles. My dealer said there was a bad batch of tie rod ends and my truck did not get one since it was not in the vin number batch in the recall.

The tie rod is not failing due to faulty construction or because it is weak. It is failing because it was not porperly installed from the factory!!!!!!!!!
If anyone that reads this has a 2010 or later 2500-4500 pick up then you need to lay under your truck and make sure that when your trucks front wheels are pointed straight down the road your tie rod ends are not cocked or rolled forward or backward. They "MUST" be square or level not cocked. If they are cocked they will fail due to binding when turning. It is only a matter of time. Dodge needs to call back every truck they manufactured for inspection of the tie rod ends to insure they are installed properly. If they were your fine if they were not you are driving a truck that will lose its steering at some point due to tie rod end failure.

My car has been at the dealership since Sept 7. A 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 with 48,000 miles and I have been dealing with the Death Wobble for over a year. They have replaced the whole front end at $1500 to me. They were so generous to cut me a deal, would have been $4200 in parts and labor. Should of cost nothing since the car design is the problem. 2 months at dealership and they changed tie-rods, shocks, gear box, damper, sway bar, springs with rubber spacers, etc... Unbelievable that you spend 38000 on a vehicle and are afraid to drive it. Can't wait to sell this piece of crap and thank you Jesus no one in my family was injured driving this hell of a vehicle.................... I hate you Dodge
