Default interior mods?

I have been debating taking out the center cup holders in my '11 quad cab, and building a box there, with cup holders on the top of it. Being a firefighter, I need somewhere to put my switches for my lights, as well as siren, which I would also use the box for. What do you guys think? Is there somewhere else i can put the switches without cutting and jackin up stock parts too much? Have you guys added any switches? where?

Thanks for your opinions and help.

Rich.

Do you have heated/cooled seats? What about using that stip where they're suppose to be? It's a small insert, so if you jacked up the install and didn't like it, it wouldn't cost you and arm and a leg to go back.

I don't know about you, but I'd hate to give up my cup holders. Even when they're not being used to hold a drink, I always find I'm sticking crap in there.

I mean, my plan with the box was to still put cup holders in there, i would like to use the 2-cup, cup holder from the rear of the cab, thats mounted on the floor. pick up one or two of those and mount them to the top of the box, and use the face of the box for my switches. I did contemplate the switch location that you mentioned, since I have no heated seats or any of that fancy stuff. But I would have to buy all of those switches, since I just have a RAM logo there, with no switches whatsoever. I would really like to put them there, but I thought that I read somewhere that it is one long strip of switches, with a circuit board attached to the whole thing. Which I have no idea how to wire it, or if it would be strong enough for my power needs......

like war horse said....if you dont have the heated/cooled seats then you could pop out that ram panel and you can buy a replacement piece from dodge that already has aux switches in it. They make them for the 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks but our interiors are the same so it will fit and give you factory aux switches, all you will need to do is wire them up. Check this link out to see what im talking about http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ST-De...t_20090wt_1167

Actually i like the way that looks. 4 switches is exactly what I would need for my lights and siren. Not to mention how clean that looks. I like this website!
