I have seen a few posts about axle bearing failure on two sites. Some of those were the same owner/truck posting on two forums.Sure haven't seen 20 some posts.Chrysler seems to being doing a good job on recalls and RRT.A lot better then the old TSB days several years back.Heck look at Toyota for example. Now that was a poor response and attitude.Sudden acceleration and frame rust through. They tried to hide/ignore those issues.

Default 2011 "Fluid" Recall

Took my new November built 2011 in for the RRT on the rear end today. It appears to affect all LSD equipped units. The tech checked the fluid level, it was to the bottom of the fill hole, correct in the old days. He then removed the breather tube and added 19oz of additonal gear lube and 1oz of friction modifier from that access. In and out in 10 minutes.

Looks like I will be adding a new fill hole in the cover at my first diff change at 25K. The axle now specs at 91oz of fluid vs 71oz. This is lube and modifier combined.
