Default Recalls announced

This is on the Florida Today website today.

Chrysler recalled about 150,000 trucks and SUVs on Thursday to address steering, air bag and potential stalling problems, while Ford recalled nearly 15,000 trucks and
crossovers because of electrical issues.
Chrysler Group LLC said it was conducting three separate recalls to fix the problems, which were posted on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's website.
The first recall covers about 22,000 Dodge Ram trucks from the 2008–2011 model years to address steering problems.
Chrysler said it had received 86 complaints over three years, but was not aware of any crashes or injuries connected to the issue.
The second involves about 65,000 Dodge Journey SUVs from the 2009 model year, to fix side air bags that might not deploy.
Wires within the front door could break and interrupt the circuits for the side impact sensors, causing the air bag warning light to go off and potentially preventing the air bag from deploying in a crash, the car manufacturer told the government.
Chrysler said it has received 23 complaints from customers about the air bag lamp. There have been no reports of crashes, fires or injuries.
The last recall includes about 57,000 Ram 1500 trucks from the 2011 model year to fix components in rear axles that could cause the trucks to stall.
Chrysler said it has received 20 reports of axle bearing noise or failure, most coming within 500 miles of driving. It has not received any reports of crashes or injuries.
Chrysler's recalls are expected to begin in February. Ford's should begin by Jan. 10.
Chrysler owners can call (800) 853-1403

I hope my dealer can do this next week, as my truck will just be sitting around with nothing to do!

Thats very not many trucks. I guess we have to wait for a letter or check the website to see if we are "lucky".

2011 trucks (diff recall)
they hired some flunkie that didnt put enough gear lube in the rear diff`s.
Oooooop`s, wasnt the flunkies fault afterall... turns out it was a the engineers fault for NOT putting the "Fill Plug" at the right height, therfore, couldnt put enough lube in anyway....hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, dumb idiots. I dont see how DODGE can afford to wait until february to wait on something that is causing the rearend to lock up due to bearing failure and possibly cause an accident...worse yet, get someone killed.
YAYYYY DODGE, you`re #3 of the big 3 for a reason....DUHHHHH

Chrysler says they have had about 20 reports on axle bearing noise or failure on the Ram...that's a crock of ****, lol! I've seen more than that on these forums alone and I'm sure that only accounts for a fraction of owners, he he!

The first recall covers about 22,000 Dodge Ram trucks from the 2008–2011 model years to address steering problems.
This recall only effects 4500 and 5500 Rams, which is why the numbers are so low.

If you are ever curious about the actual recalls, the nhtsa lists the full recall text on their website.

I took a look at the NHTSA site, and on the power steering recall, and they say:

MODEL YEAR 2011 DODGE RAM LIGHT DUTY PICKUP (DS) VEHICLES. SOME OF THESE VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE A SEPARATION AT THE CRIMPED END OF THE POWER STEERING PRESSURE HOSE ASSEMBLY.

If I'm not mistaken, the DS code refers to the 1500. The other ones are for diesels and as oldjeep says, the 4500 & 5500, which are also diesels.

I checked the NHTSA site because I got a survey from Dodge about my truck, and one of the questions mentioned steering, but it asked if it was pulling to one side or the other.
