I could be wrong but I think the truck has to be locked for it to start. I don't think the windows have to be up. My problem seems to be that it doesn't work when I want it to. Some times I have to just randomly press butons for my doors to lock or unlock. Kind of annoying. I thought it was the battery, but I switched FOBs and that one does it randomly as well. Who knows. One of life's "upgrades" I guess...lol

 

This I do know... It can be unlocked, but it will lock it when you remote start. Give it a try next to the door and watch the lock

 

When working in the yard and had the key in my pocket I have had the truck strat before. I like the foam idea on the fob?
