Memory Seats linked to RKE
Guys,
I have a 2010 1500 Laramie, and when I go hit unlock on key fob number two it pops up on the EVIC Memory seat 2 settings recalled... however the number one key fob does not do this... My question is, is it even supposed to? I have brought it to the dealer and they see what I'm talking about, but cant figure it out. They've replaced some modules so far but there are no other trucks on their lot with memory seats so we cant just try another truck.
Anyone have this problem, or does only one fob pop up on the screen as settings recalled when the unlock button is pressed?
And yes, we've programmed the truck right EVERY time...
Thanks
Mark

Memory Seats
• The memory seat feature allows you to save the driver's seat position, driver's outside
mirror position, adjustable brake and accelerator pedals, Automatic Temperature
Control (ATC) temperature setting and radio station preset settings. The driver's
memory buttons are located on the outboard side of the driver's seat cushion.
• Adjust all memory profile settings, press the SET button, then press 1 or 2 within five
seconds.
• To program a Key Fob to the memory position, place the ignition switch in the OFF
position and press and release the LOCK button within 10 seconds on the Key Fob to
be programmed.
• Press 1 or 2 to recall the saved positions, or press UNLOCK on the programmed Keymirror position, adjustable brake and accelerator pedals, Automatic Temperature
Control (ATC) temperature setting and radio station preset settings. The driver's
memory buttons are located on the outboard side of the driver's seat cushion.

Fob
This is from the user manual....and I cannot get mine to do this...hate when I get in and seat goes to wife's settings as I get squished....the download to the big manual states a bit of a different procedure to linke rke to seat.....
if anyone has luck figuring how to program the keys...please let me know! thanks!
yea we know what the manual says, and the little dvd has a similar thing... Im just sick of slamming it in drive then realizing im all set to her settings...
I mean really it is a small thing, but then again, it should work the way its supposed to, we DID pay for it. Oh well I guess I may have to just live with it

I have seen the drivers setting 1 message in the EVIC when I put my key in the ignition. I do not use 2 different settings so I can't comment on the #2 message.
The system can store 2 different driver settings and they can be assigned to 2 different keys. Each driver has to adjust individual settings to their taste and then program the key. Once the key is programmed that setting should be recalled when using that key.

I realize this is an old thread but I had recent experience with a 2012 model that I wanted to share in case others have difficulty with the process. The instructions in the manual and on the CD are accurate but vague. I followed their instructions (rewritten below) and was successful in programming both Key Fobs. Mine has #1 and my wife's has #2 programmed. The key element of information seemed to be making sure that saving a setting, removing the Key Fob, and hitting the LOCK button all needs to happen smoothly within 5-10 seconds.
Hope this helps someone.
1. Place Key Fob to be programmed in ignition. Set to ON/RUN position. (Optional to have vehicle running)
2. Adjust all profile settings as desired.
3. On seat, press the SET button and release, then press 1 or 2 within five seconds. EVIC will display that setting has been saved.
4. Turn Key Fob to OFF position and remove. Press the LOCK button on Key Fob within 5 seconds of removal.
** To verify Key Fob was successfully programmed: Adjust seat recline or any other setting manually to deviate from programmed settings. Then press UNLOCK on the programmed Key Fob. Settings should adjust to programmed 1 or 2 setting and EVIC will display which setting is active.
Note: Memorized settings cannot be recalled if the transmission is in a position other than Park or the seat belt is latched.
