Ripping my new vehicle apart to get rid of the factory POS OEM unit was the best decision I made. I replace mine with the pioneer avic-z120bt. It works very well. Anything you find wrong with the pioneer in your research will not come close to the short comings of the factory unti.

Do you always have to do major mods to install the aftermarket units?
I'm great at stereo installs, but not sure I wanna cut peices out of a forty thousand dollar truck.

Can you point out the things you found wrong with the OEM unit? I'm thinking about replacing my stock radio with a Nav unit.

You can get the RER unit for about 400.00. Its a great unit. Im been in to audio a long time and theres no way I would go with a aftermarket over the RER. Perfect fit in the dash. Lots of aftermarket support. Warranty.

I'd like to know also. I've heard that the 2011 Rams don't have the correct harness for RERs though.

I get them from a buddy every once in a while. He works at dodge and sometimes a customer upgrades. I dont have any now though and I dont know when I will. But when I do I sell em for that price. I have a 2011 Jeep one right now but I dont know if its the same or not. The mounts are on the top and bottom.

Well count me in for a $400 RHB nav from a 2011 when you get one.

I have the RER and can't recommend it to anyone. Only get it if it's already in the truck you like. I've had mine lock up on several trips and end up using my iPhone to navigate. Plus they want $200 a year for map updates. I had a Pioneer AVIC-D3 in my last truck and it was a good unit. It could display speed and other functions the RER won't. That comes in handy when running larger than stock tires without the need to flash the PCM.
