Default MyGig Software Update Available

FYI for those of you with MyGig systems. The new software, v2.401 is out and ready for installation. Seems to have cleared up the remaining issues I had with my RER unit is both of my vehicles. If you have a Chrysler vehicle you are updating you will get the new Chrysler logo on your screen. If you have UConnect you now get a UConnect RAM startup screen. Those are the big changes on the surface. It cleared up satellite and UConnect issues I was having. Does not appear to fix the issues with iPhone4 though...sorry.

Get it here...

Any idea how to find the download for the 430/RBZ radio? Also, are there release notes anywhere?

Thanks,
Rob

Why can't I just go to the dealership and have them do it ? Seems like it should be their problem and not mine.

I'm sure you could, if that's what you prefer. But what's easier, downloading a file, burning a CD, and going out to the garage to install it, or making an appointment, taking time off from work to go to the dealer, and waiting an hour in their waiting room for them to do the update? For me, it would the the self-sufficient method.

this update (v2.401) is exclusively for the RER models. No more updates on the REN will be available from the manufacturer (Current 9.292).

From the link provided.
CD.
Start you truck, turn on the radio, insert the CD, follow the prompts...DO NOT REMOVE THE DISK UNTIL YOU GET A PROMPT ASKING IF YOU WANT TO UPGRADE FROM VERSION 2.401 TO VERSION 2.401. ANSWER NO AT THAT PROMPT, THEN YOU CAN REMOVE THE DISK. The system will reboot several times during the process, do not turn off your vehicle, putz with your MyGIG, etc. Just sit and be patient...the thread linked to is for the RER system.

The site referenced has the latest software for all versions fo the MyGIG systems.

Is there a way to tell whether the radio in my truck is an RER or REN model?

RER = radios with nav, i.e. 730
REN = touchscreen radio without nav, i.e. 430
RBZ = basically a newer version of REN, still a 430. My May build 2010 came with RBZ

If you want more detail, log into the Dodge owner site and go to the 'Media Center Radios' page.
