Question ECO mode Engine Lag

I was just wondering if anyone out there that has a 2011 with the eco drive has an issues with them. I have noticed a lot as of late that while i am driving in the city or even on the highway for a good distance at a steady speed the engine seems to not be sure what to do. And by that I mean there is a constant lag in the motor, not wanting to remain in 4 cyl. mode or if it wants to use all eight. It kind of starts a little bit of a shudder, so with that being said has anyone heard of any recalls or has anyone had this issue as well???

The only thing I've really noticed is that unless the road is level and flat the ECO will turn off and on depending on the grade. I use cruise control frequently and I find that in order to maintain the set speed on a slight grade the ECO will turn off and then go back on once the "load" on the engine decreases.

I've stayed out of that thread for more reasons than one, but....

Mine is a 2010 and I really don't notice a lag between modes. I notice a somewhat severe lag between what my foot tells the truck to do and when the truck actually does it, but I don't really think it's a problem. There is going to be latency issues between what I tell the truck to do and the truck actually doing it. Just part of getting electronics involved compared to the older cable system.

Never had the shudder issue either.

This is the only thing I do not like about my truck. I drive too many back roads and this MDS just plain old sucks so I have had it disabled for over a year now. Performance is 100x better and to me worth the slight hit in gas mileage.

I heard a while back that the throttle ratio could be adjusted but don't remember how. I don't have a tuner yet but I thought that one of these tuners had an option for this but I guess evidently not. I also read that a throttle body change was one of the best cures for this...don't remember which one for that either but it would be worth looking into if the throttle response bothers you.

Get yourself a tuner like for example a Superchips tuner and there is an option to disable the mds, as well as many other features.
