Nice looking truck. IMO, I think you should paint the chrome bumper black. It kind of sticks out. The wheels/tires look great.

I'm confused then. I know they're not factory, but in his first post he said he has HID 6K low beams, nothing about Recon...

ok then i will make a statement here. he has the recon headlights, he said that he had gotten his new hood AND headlights and that he put 6k hid bulbs in the low beams. look up recon headlights and you will see that those are what he has.

Gotcha, thanks... keep in mind some of us know nothing about HID's, etc.

I will give you a quick run through to save you some searching around. First off I have the 6k hid bulbs in my truck and I have the quad headlights so I have them in the high and low beams and i love them. Many will say that its not a good idea to put hid bulbs in your stock housing since it will blind oncoming drivers but I have yet to be flashed at when meeting cars. I am looking to add the recon headlights this spring to reduce the glare with my low beams and give them a more focused pattern. Also hid kits seem to be hit and miss as far as people having trouble with them, I had to call hidextra twice to get mine running but I have had them for over a year with no problems. There is no reason why you couldn't also put the hid bulbs in your fog lights but I have heard that they are extremely bright and that you have to turn them off when you meet a car since they will produce a lot of glare for oncoming cars. Check out hidextra for your hid kit since they are a sponsor here and are pretty reasonable for price.

Thanks very much for the info! I looked up the light kit on Recon and the "halo" lights are projectors, I assume not the same as HID's? I love the look of the Recon lights but they're pretty pricey at $550 for a set, and my main goal would be to increase visibility (mine). Do you know if you can put HID's in projector housings?

you are correct. the recon headlights have a projector for the lowbeams and just the standard housing for the highbeam. hid refers to the bulb and not the housing or the projector. and the recon headlights have the halo ring around both the high and lowbeam lights plus they have led running lights in them. and you can put hid bulbs in nearly anything and i say nearly because some housings dont have enough depth to accept a hid bulb since they are a bit longer than standard bulbs. but hid'swill work in the recon lights as well as the stock headlights.
