Question 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Transmission Issue?

I'm wondering if anyone else here with the same year and model(2010 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 liter, Hemi), is experiencing the same symptoms as I am. I am noticing my vehicle is down shifting to what feels like a much lower gear than necessary. It almost feels like a manual transmission when its down shifting. Is this normal? Before I take it in, I figured I'd ask here first. I've only had it for a few months and was wondering if this is normal or if I should take it back to the dealer I bought it from.

These trucks do seem to have an aggressive downshift schedule in factory form. However, I don't feel that it's an issue..

Default Interesting.

I had a 2005 Ford F150 Lariat that had a 5.7 but the transmission never reacted like this one does. I'll see if it continues or becomes an issue but it is definitely noticable.

It bugged me for the first month I drove the truck, but then I drove a few others and noticed that they have the same feature. Test drove a 2011 F150 6.2 AND 3.6 eco yesterday and they both had a similar down shift schedule like ours do.

Its called engine braking, and its a good thing in a pickup truck. Its even more pronounced in tow/haul mode, which is more of a good thing.

I liked the stock Ram shifts way more than the stock F150's. That is one reason ( of many ) why I bought a Ram instead of another F150 in '09. Btw - the '05 Lariat has a 5.4.. But Ford finally has a decent engine lineup for 2011.

Talking Typo.

Yes, kddsram is correct. I meant to say it had a 5.4 liter. Like I said, if it doesn't become an issue than so be it.

I hate to jack this thread, but I disagree. I drove both the 6.2L and the 3.6L trucks on Monday... The 6.2 has more power than the 5.7Hemi does, but Ford seems to be a little conservative about how the power is put to the ground. Honestly, I floored it on the highway and still didn't feel like I was getting anywhere fast. Not to mention, if you think our rams shift soft, then you need to drive one of the Fords and one of the GM's. They both shift so soft that you'd think you were on a belt drive system. Way too much slip in my book.
