first shouild I wait for my second oil change before going with a good synt oil or convert it at my first oil change

and should I go Royal purple or amsoil oil and filters...?

since some new cars come with synthetic i see no reason to wait, i' m going to change to syn at 1000 miles, change again at 2500 then every 6000 after that. amsoil has a great rep but pricy and if you' re are not going to do the extended change intervals, 25000miles? why spend the extra dollars. rp has a good following, but i'm not sue the have all the certs for use in our engine. there is no magic oil that is going to give you 1, 2 0r even 3 extra mpg, make your engine last 1000000000 miles or run the quarter in under 8 sec. having said that , i, m going to stick with mobil one in the 5/20 as spec'd in my owners manuel. hang on now, your going to get as many different answers as there are oil brands.

 

+1 for Mobile 1. As far as timing, I have heard to wait until motor is broken in, like your second oil change?
