Default First oil change - months/miles?

Ok, when did you all do your first oil change? How many months and miles?

I did my first one at 3 months and just 2,000 miles. The reason why I did it so early was I had a 2 week trip planned to drive to Florida and back from Trenton, Ontario which is 3000 miles round trip. I wanted any filings that may be in the oil system removed. I know new vehicles are not like vehicles from 20-30 years ago but I guess I am a little old school and would rather change the oil sooner rather than later. My 2 cents worth.

My computer requested an oil change at 9K kms.

Checked in with the dealership at 7K, and they told me to come in when the computer requests the oil change.

For my second oil change I waited for the EVIC message, but the first I like going early, just a preference.

It's funny because with my old car I changed the oil only twice a year. Once in the spring to get ready for the summer, and once in the fall to get ready for the winter. My driving consists of 98% highway.. (I live off the highway, and that's where work is). Never had an issue. Now with my new Ram... I guess I am going to have to baby it.

I changed the oil and filter on my '09 1500 at 600 miles.
I have done this on all my new vehicles and motorcycles for many many years. If you google this, you can find a lot of good reasons to do so. It works for me!!

Got my 2010 TRX4 at the end of April. Had the dealer do the first oil change today at 1430 miles with synthetic. Next time I probably will do it myself.

Most of the OLM have been going off first time around 2500 miles.Lots of posts at that mileage. Also Service writer said thats when he sees the majority of first oil changes. After that between 5k and 6k.I did my first one at 2500.I'm at 23k now and most of mine have been in the 6k range.

I ran mine to 500K+ with a very good breakin than switched to Mobile One 2000 semi synthetic 5W-20. Got Oil changers to do the first change, as it's a pain to remove the filter the first time. I changed it @ 5000K with Mobile One full synthetic 5W-20 and again @ 10000K...

I changed the oil in my new Chev small block boat engine at about 50 hours, thinking about the metal particles from break-in. The oil was pretty thick and gunky.
Having seen this, I think that an earlier "first" oil change would be better than leaving it for several thousand miles.
