Opinion on Warranty work

So i added the 2.5" daystar level spacer to my 2wd this past Sunday.....love the way it looks!! Went to get my alignment done as per the instructions, and the mechanic tells me that he can't do it because both the inner and outer tie rods on the passenger side are shot!! With 31,000 on the truck im gonna take her to he dealership and see what they say.........will the rim's and tires along with the level kit ruin my chance of this possibly being covered by my warranty? If it does i guess i will just eat the cost of getting it fixed.....just seems really pre mature for that stuff to be wearing out.....

Just show them the reciept for the leveling kit if they say anything. But since that can't be directly attributable to tie-rod failure, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on. That seems very premature to me. I've changed literally hundreds of tie-rod ends, and cant think of any that had less than 50K on them.
All I see are issues with lift kits, is everybody that much taller than me? Would be nice to lift the roof instead of the truck LOL. Good luck all you lifted truck owners, I was waiting on one of these, went thru it with a GMC, was a snow plow that did in my ball joints at 30K and well tierod ends werent an issue shocks and front stabilizer were though.

You should check out the "tie rod issues" thread (there are several) here in the forum. I think that there have been some faulty tie rod ends whether lifted or not. Just saying to do some homework on it before you bring it in so you'll have something to stand on...good luck.
very nice truck bohrman44, can you post a pic with lights on? are very nice!!! this are gorecon?

Seems the tie-rod ends are problematic....I'm sure the dealer has seen plenty of them. The leveling kit does not affect those parts. That's for sure. If your dealer is good, they should not give you any problems.
Well after the dealership having my truck all day, they are going to replace the tie rods and do the alignment for me all under warranty!! The mechanic had my truck all day making sure that, the tie rods were the only thing gone bad under there, because if there were more wore out parts they were gonna replace them as well, but just the tie rods......i went all day without the truck, but totally worth it to get everything fixed under the waranty!!
piercc- those are some headlights i got off ebay, i had another post about them in more detail in here somewhere.....thanks
72combo- yes the plastic is fading....i hear that a heat gun will bring the black back to it......actually youtube has some vids of guys heating their fading fender flares on some trucks and it looks like it works....
