Default Anybody get 4.56 gears put in?

So has anybody put 4.56's in their 4th gen ram 4x4 and where did you get it done. I have 3.55's in my 09 sport 4x4 and with 35" tires 6" lift and a 26ft camper on your *** isnt the greatest setup. I towed nearly 3000kms one way with it last summer and had to stop 3 times due to my tranny overheating (which im getting a new tranny cooler installed 350$ by mr. transmission.) Buddy says its not even comparable to the dodge "HD" tranny cooler. But as for the gearing its just horrible with the 3.55 my tranny is constantly going to overdrive, even if i slap it in 3rd its too hard for everything. So i need the 4.56 basically but has anybody done it and how are they riding so far. Also what did the dealer say as for warranty issues?

I don't know if that's offered outside of the the HD axles, which is what the powerwagon has.

At worst, it is worth trying out the 3.92's. It should definitely make some difference over the 3.55's.

4.56 ratio is available in aftermarket gears only

3.92 and 4.10 are available in both OEM and aftermarket.

I'm gun shy of rear aftermarket gears whining due to a bad experience with them

-but-

I would go with the less expensive aftermarkets on the front again since I had no issues with them due to the slower speeds in 4wd.

Well i know oem is only up to 4.10, but if im not mistaken its only for the 2x4 platform so no good for me. The 3.92 would be an option but if im paying for it i thought of going to 4.56 right away. 05Dakotaho on what vehicle did you experience this? and also what manufacture made those gears? I know i went to the dodge dealer and asked them if they done it before and they said yes once on a jeep, so its not looking promising, but ill try and see if i can work out some sort of warranty deal for oems anyways, but very doubt it.

Mdram43 you can check out more pics on my cardomain page just go to http://www.cardomain.com/ride/380021...-cab-all-trims

Both front and rear 4.10 gears were Genuine (G2) brand. I replaced the rear with OEM gears. There is still a question about whether the rears whined due to a bad install or bad gears. Experience was on an 05 Dakota with the 9.25 rear axle and 8.25 front...both identical to the RAM.

I am almost certain that OEM 4.10 gears ARE available for the 4x4.

Love your truck bro. One of the nicest black trucks I've seen and is an inspiration to where I want to take mine. Love the dog too.. lol.

The whine isn't necessarily from the gear but the installation. Had Richmond 4:56's in another truck and never heard them. While I was in the pumpkin went ahead and installed Timken bearings as well. No issues after that.

What gears did you have before, and how was the difference? Was it much better as for moving big tires around and did you do any towing with it, how was that compared to before?
