Service 4WD Light
Thanks. Next is installing the back-up camera tomorrow and trying to figure out why my idle is so off when I come to a stop. With less than 900 miles on the truck, I'm starting to see why so many people knock Dodge
I use the term 'idle' loosely here. Whenver I come to a stop my tach drops below 500 rpm and shudders as though it's about to stall then recovers at ~500 rpm. Happens in traffic, when I park in the garage, at the office. No change. Stealer told me it's bad gas. Same stealer just called to tell me that my radio (2011 with Nav) isn't compatible with a reverse camera. Ridiculous
lol...these trucks seem to be hit or miss. Some have lots of issues and some seem to have none. I've never had any problems with mine except the 4WD module thing. But it was a simple reset and no issues since. I've never really been interested in a back up camera so I'm not worried about that. One thing I was surprised about though was that I couldn't get a software update for navigation on mine. I have the touchscreen radio which looks identical to the nav unit. I figured I could just upgrade the software or something and it would be good to go, but apparently not. Oh well, I guess I should have got it when I ordered the truck...lol
I hear ya. I had an '01 1500 'Offroadster' that never go above 13 mpg and would stall out for no reason. My '05 CTD went through 6 sets of injectors before the dealer told me to hammer it. After that, no issues. I wanted the backup camera to help park. I work in Denver and parking sucks. Had the camera on my Jeep Grand Cherokee and loved it. So far so good. Now for that damn idle!
Search is a wonderful thing!
My Serv 4WD light came on this morning as well.
I’ll make my voodoo doll, do the prescribed rituals and then see the stealer to get my vaccine if it doesn’t go away.
Thanks for the heads-up everyone.
