Are you going to be using this trailer a lot? If just a one time deal tow with what you got.If shopping for a trailer by a fifth wheel.I pull a 4400lb fifth wheel with 2 inches of squat. I haul just as much horse feed in my truck with less squat than my 1998 1500 had.

Also if you will be doin this haul often be sure to get a sway control in addition to your weight distribution.
Dodge claims 10,400lbs. but if you look on the door decals like my rv dealer did, legally the GVW is only about 7500lbs. according to them.

I tow a camper of a similar size. I use a weight distributing hitch and sway controller. If you adjust the bars to the right number of links on the chains you shouldn't sag much. I tried it a few different times before getting it right. Good luck

I put about 25,000 miles on my 08 1500 towing anywhere from 7,000-10,000lbs. But I did what you're looking at and put some firestone airbags on with wireless remote for adjusting the system. Bags are the way to go for towing, but if this becomes the norm I would look at a diesel. I live it Washington state and it sucked having to hammer it to keep speed up the hills and passes all the time.

As far as handling that trailer, it should pull just fine behind the Ram. The airbags will do their job to keep the vehicle level. The Ram won't struggle, power-wise, but it will be working plenty hard, especially if you're pulling through hills. Gas mileage will suck, due to the weight and the frontal area.

Check out a post I made last fall about my towing experience:

I think someone is misinterpreting things. GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) is the total max weight of the vehicle when loaded. It does not include the trailer. GCWR (gross combined weight rating) is the total weight of vehicle and trailer, fully loaded. The 7500# GVWR makes sense for the truck itself, since it is pushing 6000# empty (wet weight).

You may want a new RV dealer if they got that confused.

i am running firestone airbags and i forget what site i picked them up from it was reccomended here in a post they were on sale for 80 bucks i think. took about an hour with my 3 year old "helping" to install them, jacked up truck with axle hanging, swished inbetween coils, ran hoses to licence plate bolts, drilled out hole to fit shrader, done. reduce air rides like stock, air up holds weight way better.

I have a 30ft travel trailer and I forget its there when i'm towing and I also have 35s. You will have no problems at all. I would also suggest airlift air springs. My trailer has 800# tongue weight which was heavier than the other travel trailers I was looking to buy so I have always used the airlifts.
