Default front brake caliper locked / hung up

hey guys, drivers side front caliper hung up on me saterday and by time i got to my destination (not realizing anything was wrong except a slight pull to the left which i attributed to road crest) the smell of burnt material was terrible and the wheel was so hot i couldnt even touch it. anyone else have any similar problems? noted severe wear on that rotor vs other side as well, only 26k on truck!! i had it towed to dealer they hope to get it up on the lift later today for me. guess that the hemi will push through anything becuase when i jacked it up i could not even turn the wheel by hand.

did a search and didnt come up with any other posts on this issue.

Could be a collapsed brake hose, or worse yet, the anti-lock brake system has an issue.
(if it were ABS, i would think it would have thrown a code, then you`d see lite on in dash)
Not uncommon for a brake hose to collapse internally, but it is rare at this low of miledge.
Being under the 3/36 warranty, they should most likely cover it for you under warranty.

My 09 did it a while back , less than 25,000 miles, left front locked up , smoked the rotor, they replaced the rotor , pads ,caliper and brakes hose, not the bearing in the hub though for free .....found out later that stuff is only covered till 12/12

Pads are covered 12/12 unless really odd circumstances which that truck had.Lines, calipers etc.are 3/36. Service manager had to sign off on the repair etc..

what the hell is 12/12? You're not saying 12 months/12,000 miles are you? I wouldn't think a dealership would cover your pads for a year?

If a pad happened to be defective CHRYSLER covers it 12/12. Under certain circumstances longer. Usually with a major failure of something else. How the reps I dealt wanted it handled was if the pad was badly worn due to normal usage.Say 30k and a caliper failure then owner of vehicle pad for the pads/parts only.If the pad wear was less then 50% and caliper failed include new pads in the repair. It just red flags the claim and it gets handled a little different.
