My truck made it home. I could almost reproduce the metal grinding noise on demand while under tow climbing any incline at partial throttle. I have an appointment at the dealership tommorrow. I will post what they find.

I have the same problem with my 2009 regular cab 1500. its has 5.7 hemi 2wd
Seems like its lagging the tranny and creates a vibrating noise, like a loose exhaust shield. I've had that problem since I drove it home when I bought it new in January, 2010.

Made several trips to dealership, different dealers too. Had a Chrysler rep look over my truck with his "best techs" in phoenix, az and no luck.

They tighten the cooling plumbing in the hood, check drive line for balance issues, bed liner still forming to truck bed, check rear end, reflashed tranny, changed catalytic converter, replaced exhaust with Magna flow exhuast....
And still like that.... today.. with 17000 miles
Chrysler Rep told me I just got a bad apple, its just annoying but not unsafe.
If it was not safe I would get a replacement.

I dread driving the thing...

Just spent the morning driving 100 miles to have my issue looked at they checked for codes and found none. They couldn't duplicate my concern so they adjusted my tire pressure and said all of my concerns are characteristic of the vehicle and the rattle at partial throttle is normal. I guess i just have to wait for something to really break!!
