Default oh boy.....

I am a new ram owner, always been a chevy guy, just bought a new 2010 ram 2500 4x4 this year to use as a plow truck. I have only had it since jan 16th and today as I was plowing it sounds like when the truck is in 4x4 the plates havent dropped and are continuosly "clunking" (the sound you would hear when you switch from 2 wheel to 4... I have the shift on the go electrical shifter... and will be bee lining to the dealer today to have this checked... anyone have any ideas?? Oh.. and the truck only has 4440 kms...

You just got a bad transfer case and well the dealer is gonna take care of you, especially since you plow snow....sometime they deny the warranty(sounds like a good dealer) if you have gold extended warranty you are entitled to a rental vehicle.

i have a 2011 bighorn and it seems i have the same problem, when i put in 4x4 and backed into my driveway gave it gas and heard a clunk and i could feel a jolt as well. Brand new truck and this happens.....i had a 2009 and traded it in for the big horn because i was having problems with it. Within a year i had to replace rear diff, power sterring pump, rack and pinion, water pump, i think ford would have been better choice

So when you were backing into your drive, I assume you had to cut/turn your wheel some if not significantly? What part of the country do you live in?

Seeing a few bad transfer cases right "out of the box" lately. Almost never seen them out of 2nd or 3rd Gen Rams. Luckily, they seem to be either good or bad. Odds are the one they replace it with will last the life of the truck.

Same thing with racks. Ever since the 3rd Gens came out and they went to IFS fronts on the 1500s the racks have been hit or miss. I check mine every time I change the oil and luckily, no leaks anywhere yet.
I've seen guys on their 3rd and 4th racks in under 100k miles and I've seen 3rd Gens with over 200k miles on the original rack. Go figure...

Seems like there is something going on with the Canadian dodges! They should be the same as the ones we have in America but I know a few guys that have 4th gens with no issues. Also most of the post I see on here that involve on going problems seem to be from people in Canada.
