At what gas price will you start to park your truck and find alternate transportation?

Just curious.

Mines over $5.00 per gallon it might be time to look at doing something.

I don't know... say $10/gal. But, I get paid a per diem for the miles I drive that are work related (which are most of my miles). Besides, there would be a global melt down, Red Dawn style, long before it ever got that high.

We made a decision a couple years back to eliminate wasted trips.

By trying to be conscious about it, we have learned to combine 3,4,5 errands, which would have been that many individual trips.

You would be amazed at how much gas that decision has made.

Also, being an avid bicyclist, I run many errands on my bicycle, almost anything within 5 miles one way, and capable of being loaded on my bike. This, also, saves gazillions of gallons of petrol. And, I get the benefit of keeping some of the fat off my body, and keep my joints functional.

Consequently, we don't feel guilty, whenever we do use the truck, car, motorcycle, whatever.

I would rather pay $100 a gallon than ride any form of public transit. Gas is going to have get exponentially more expensive before I would consider parking my Ram.

I really don't understand why in a forum for Ram pickups, there are so many threads about gas mileage.

Either way, we are over $5 a gallon here right now, and I don't have much issue with it. Would I prefer to pay less? Of course, hell I would rather it be free! But, I didn't buy a Ram 1500 for its fuel saving ability.

I couldn't park my truck as I use it for work, its the reason why I have it. The only good thing is summer is coming so I won't be using as much gas to warm my truck during the cold weather.

I'm really fortunate that I only live a couple of miles from where I work. The down side to that is that the coolent doesn't even get hot, let alone the oil in driving to work. Not good for engines but also don't use a lot of gas.

Wait.....you can actually park a Dodge Ram? Huh...never knew that.

I know, I know....

But now that I know that....I guess one less hooker per week will make up the difference in fuel price. Ummm.....naw can't do that.
