REN Radio
Hi all; i just ordered a REN radio and am just a bit curious about loading up the tunes.
Does the USB stick I use to load the music up, need to be FAT or NTFS for it to work in the radio? Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere, and I don't have the manual for it yet.
Cheers,

I remember reading in one of the threads that it's FAT32 and has issues with NTFS. I'll see if I can't find the thread. I know it's in here somewhere!

This was in regards to the 730N however I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that they all will be the same.

If you happen to own an Ipod you can upload all your songs on your REN harddrive. Just plug it in and upload i think from your options in USB. I have like 6000 songs on my harddrive, its pretty much maxed out. The only thing i don't like is you cant delete single songs, you'd have to delete the entire harddrive which is stupid, now im stuck with stupid songs i dont like.
Unless someone figured out how i can't.

I'm pretty sure you can delete single songs. You just have to go in and edit the playlist. I'm not 100% on this, but I think it can be done. I'm pretty sure I"ve deleted duplicates off my hard drive before.
Thanks to all for your help. Once it gets here and I have it in I will let you know how it all worked out.

Realize that the REN has been replaced in most Chrysler models by the RBZ sometime between the 2010 and 2011 Model Years - now made by Mitsubishi Electronics instead of Harmon Becker. The form factor, feature set, and functionality remained pretty much same - but it means the REN isn't seeing much of any Official Support.
The REN is a "pretty good" In-Car Entertainment System, but it DEFINITELY has its share of Oddities and Frustrations. It's nowhere near as "intelligent" as some of the Ford and GM Systems that are featured in their Ads, and some of its foibles make you wonder whether its designers "purposefully avoided using any modern MP3 players as a guideline".
Playback by Artist plays the songs in alpha-order with no sense of albums. Playback by Album is the same alpha-order. Search by Artist lists each Artist with separate entries for every "with Guest", meaning one album could be spread across 5-10 different "Artist with Guest" entries. Search by Album doesn't list the Artist, so with 5000+ songs stored guess how many "Best Of" and "Greatest Hits" album titles you might search through to find your target.
That being said, mine is still in my truck and still used regularly.
Good luck with your install. Hope you enjoy yours.
