Default cab and bed do not line up

I just bought a 2009 Ram quad cab 4x4 with about 24000 miles in great shape last week and today I noticed while I was looking in my driver side door mirror that the bed of the truck does not meet up with the cab as smooth as it should. The bed looks to be a little farther in towards the middle of the bed. On the passenger side of the truck when you follow the body line the cab and the bed match up perfectly. Is this something I should be concerned about?

The tailgate shuts fine and everything looks normal I am just conceded that this may be a sign that there is a problem. The bed also seems wider at the front of the bed and narrower towards the back of the truck, is that a normal dodge thing? I also noticed today that when I hit a few bumps the bed seemed to shake, this is my first dodge so i am wondering if this stuff is normal.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks
John

i think the beds are a little smaller than the cab, b/c mine seems to be centered perfectly and on both sides you have to move inward from the door to the bed.

Typical dodge quality...live with it, or have it fixed, or buy another brand truck.
They are ALL pretty much poor quality today, so dont let it eat you up or you`ll die sad...lol.
You might also want to have a carfax report done and see if it has been previously wrecked/fixed

Default Thanks

Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it. I did buy it from one of the large dealerships in my town and they did include a carfax report and there were no reports of anything bad. This is my first Ram so I just wanted to know if that was normal or not.

Thanks again,

John

You should sell and buy a Toyota. I think you might be happier, with all that quality, didn't they set a record last year for the most vehicle recalls for one company in a year?

I would be concerned about the bed wobbling. You might wanna make sure the bed is tightened down good. I think there are like 4 bolts holding it down. It shouldn't have any play in it that's for sure.

Default bed misalignment

I just bought a new 2011 outdoorsman, has the same issue. The left side looks good, but the right side tucks in farther, it is most noticeable when looking in the mirrors, as you said. I think this is normal production tolerance, and it is not good. And yes, the beds do taper inward as thay go back.
