ive been hanging out in the 2nd generation forum for quite some time.think its time to jump into the new millenium.been looking at a 2008 4wd 5.7 hemi crew cab,very nice looking truck.but am concerned about fuel mileage and any other unpleasant issues that might arise.

An '08 is 3rd gen. I personally don't know much about them - never had one. Probably better to post in the 3rd gen forum.

 

I had an '07 (5.7 4x4 QC), which pulled an average of 17.4 mpg's over all, (23k on the clock) which I traded in for my '09. It actually does better mpg's then my current truck, but then again, two completely different trucks. Should be a solid truck, that generation has been around a few years, so I wouldn't think you would run into any problems, unless the previous owner beat the living hell out of it. Good luck with your purchase, you should be able to talk them down on the price though, seems a little high for the edition.
