Default 2009 RAM Crew Cab water leak on passenger A pillar

Anyone experience water leak running down A pillar on passenger side and soaking the floor board? I have seen posts regarding leaks from sunroofs etc... I don't have a sunroof and still have a leak. I have had my windshield reseated, and still have a leak after a hard rain or a run through a car wash. Dealer told me to keep my eye on it... These things happen.. NOT what I want to hear...

Same problem here. I do have a sunroof. Dealer checked that and resealed my windshield. Still the same problem with extremely heavy rain. I heard something about the third brake light leaking in and traveling to the a pillar. I guess that's possible.

Dont know if it is the same for the 2009 trucks but had the same leak in my 2008 with sun roof and it turned out it was the drain line for the sun roof that runs through the pillars. It had come disconnected.

If water is entering at your grab handle it could be from 3 areas . The sunroof or sunroof drains, windshield or the roof/body seams. This is a known problem and dealers have a repair manual for this. There are other leak issue that could be present in a vehicle but no other leak other then the ones I stated can reach the a pillar

among other things I had a water leak into my cab. The dealership said the water was comming in through my windsheild, rear window and 3rd brake light. all came off, new seals/gaskets and some trim work. I've only had it 3 days since they fixed it, but I washed it and it didn't leak.. so fingers crossed..

Default 2009 Ram Leak

My 2009 Ram 1500 first had a rear leak. Water was coming down both sides on the back window. That was fixed by replacing the seal on the third brake light.

Second leak was on the passenger side A pillar. It took the dealer four months to get the part. It was fixed by replacing the drain tube for the sunroof.

Third leak is on the driver's side A pillar. I'm assuming it is the same as the other side. I will be sure to have them replace all and any drains from the sunroof this time.

A day after the third leak I now have an electrical problem. All gauges go dead, a "service Park Assist" comes on on the display, many dash warning lights go on, and the seat moves backwards. Lots of fun when it happens when I'm braking. Off to the dealer tonight but I'm considering invoking the Lemon Law.

Be very cautious of having the RRT for the leaky third brake light. Reason is my dealer used a clear adhesive to glue the light to the body and I ended up cracking my tail light trying to remove it.

After a trip to the dealer to find out why they decided to use "glue" the service rep got angry and said stop saying glue it's a "SPECIAL SELANT". After finally getting into with him and him basically telling me I'm out 50 bucks for my light I asked him what was the part number on this "special sealant" so I could reseal my light to which his reply after reading the work order was "looks like a general sealer" which sounds to me like "GLUE". Go figure

Completely useless I can't believe that Dodges hi paid engineers decided that glue was the best option for the fix not a rubber gasket or even a new design on the tail light. Oh well sorry for my rant just be cautious when having this RRT done.

My 2010 1 Ton leaks from the top screw hole of the driver's A-pillar. MANY trips to the dealer over several years (luckily we are in a catastrophic drought). Sunroof has been replaced, windshield removed and reseated (to get the headliner out), windshield replaced (removed to replace the headliner when a mounting clip broke) and this past week a new sunroof drain tube replaced (leaked on the way home from the dealer). For older Rams leaking (posted on this site), it mentions the driver's side door seal and a screw hole behind it at the top. I printed the door seal post and am taking it to the dealer tomorrow.

Best of luck at the dealership! Keep us posted on how it goes.
