Default steering wheel click noise

so i have a 2009 dodge ram quad cab and for some reason while driving i hear a loud click sound as if the steering wheel tilt just changed a notch although im positive the wheel doesn't move. im just wondering if this happens to anyone else, i've never tried setting the wheel in another location and see if it still makes noise perhapes i'll try that and let you guys know im just wondering if it is something more serious. It usually happens at speeds of 50km/h-100km/h.
I tried searching and only one other forum came up and im not sure his issue is the same as mine, its not a huge deal to me but it is a loud sound and sometimes after a nightshift i panic a bit and think the steering wheel broke off in my hands.

I have experienced the same scenario. And I believe in my case it is the the tilt adjustment engaging fully into position. Mine is subtle but noticeable , however it isn't speed related on my truck (2010). I notice it upon steering input right after tilt adjustment. It doesn't happen all the time just on occassion.
