The lifetime powertrain on '09s turn into a 3/36 after they are sold. The 5yr/100k is better for resale but the lifetime is great if you are keeping it over 100K. My dad has a mini-van with 120K on it in 2.5 years and he is getting a new transmission right now so it worked out for him. I seldom keep a car/truck more than 30K miles so I prefer the 100K for resale.

The '09s have a 3 year or 36000 mile bumper to bumper warranty - does not matter how many times the title changes. In addition, there are federal and state requirements for the emissions equipment (I'm too lazy to go get my warranty but I think it's 7 or 8 years or 100,000 miles). The power train lifetime only applies to the original owner, the rest do not.

Jump up and down and get them(dealer) to work with you on a Lifetime Max Care policy if its still available. More or less the same thing.

It should, mine did, and I bought mine within three days of your purchase date, back in '09. Hell they had it advertised "lifetime power-train warranty" across the windshield in the dealership showroom. They even remind me from time to time to remember to have the truck inspected within the first five years to keep honoring the warranty.

yea ... if i remember correctly right around that time (i bought my truck right near end of july 2009 also) was when they announced that the 2010's wouldnt have the lifetime powertrain warranty, but it in no way excluded any existing 2009 model year trucks. your dealer doesnt control this, dodge does.

The 09 should have had the lifetime warranty. It should say so on the window sticker. My 08 does.
The lifetime warranty was offered from late 2006 until the end of the 2009 model year for the original owner and it is not transferable.

I would call the Chrysler Info Line in the Manual and give them your VIN and see what they say.

7-29-09 sounds like it may be the manufacturing date. It may be trucks manufactured after 7-29-09 dont have the lifetime warranty (Thats about the time model year switch over occurs).
