Gear swap?
all depends on tire size. Anything above 35" you should seriously consider 4.56, even 4.88 for 38". I have yukon 4.56 with 33" tires on an 06 FX4 and it is wayyyyy too much gear for any sustained highway driving. And it is one expensive mod - 2400 bucks, not to get it right.
WOW!!! Only mod I didn't do on my truck was my gears. Local 4x4 shop charges $600 an axle for gears, master install kit and labor. The place you had them done at least give you a free tube of Vaseline with that gear job. Hell 4 Wheel Parts is high and you can get front and rear gears PLUS an Auburn or TruTrac LSD and still be around $2000.
33s are right on the border IMO, if you do a LOT of highway 4.10s would be better but if it's mostly in-town stuff then 4.56s would be better...[/quote]

Yep, 2400 bucks out the door with yukon master rebuild kit and gear oil change after breakin. That is why I made sure the Ram had 3.92 or I wasn't even lookin at the truck on any of the dealer lots..
