Default What to do now? Opinions Please!!!

Had my 09 crew cab 4x4 Big Horn in yesterday because I get a clunking noise from the front end at different times and situations. sometimes something as small as a little stone in a parking lot will trigger this and other times it takes a rough road or terrain. I'm also feeling a very pronounced vibe through my gas pedal that seems to be getting worse. I don't think this is the droan issue but maybe a bad strut or something in the suspension or steering linkage. Just feels sloppy. Once again the dealer found nothing, said everythings in specs. They did say to rotate the BADYEARS so I did that along with a balance. Still no difference. This is the third look for the clunk and the first for the pedal vibe although I think these two problems coincide with each other. I'm at my wits end. I don't want to argue with the service adviser because I'm no Pro myself. I just know a vehicle should not feel this way. I have the 5.7 and only 22,000 miles. I own a 97 Jeep wrangler 2.5 4cyl with 225,000 miles, same clutch, No Major issues ever. This is why I bought Chrysler again. I told my 11 yr old son I'm seriously considering a new F150 and he flipped, said the ram looks way tougher, But it don't feel tough! I'm just super disappointed! My next instinct is to call the Chrysler customer line instead of writing a letter like suggested. I don't want to get rid of the Ram but this has not been a good experience and I've loathed this truck more than I've loved it. I can't even buy a 2" level kit with confidence because of all the people that seem to be having issues with those. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Opinions please

Take it back to the service manager and request that a technician go for a ride with you or just beat on it till it breaks. One way or the other they'll have to fix it.

Sounds like what I had when I first bought truck. Pop the hood release but still keep it latched and try to make it clunk again since you should be able to recreate issue driving slow. If it does not do it anymore it was the hood alignment and the two hood rest bumpers. Sounds strange but I had same thing and they were all over the suspension parts trying to figure it. We all swore it was suspension related since that what it sounded like. Good luck

I'm leaning toward just calling Chrysler on monday. Would they arrange to have a thorough front end check at the dealership? The hood on the truck is tight and has the little plastic stickers in place. This is the third time I've brought the clunking issue up to the dealership. Now the pedal vibe. I'm just looking for answers. I love the styling of my Ram and many other things but it just does not feel tight and put together well when it rides with clunking and pedal vibrations.
What about the trucks that had worn ball joints, tie rod ends, wheel bearings, struts etc, what were some of the symptoms? I need more opinions and input!!!

Gas pedal vibration can usually be traced back to tires or ball joints. (Rack & tie rods you'll usually feel thru the steering wheel). I had a Furd diesel that ATE ball joints. The auto parts store guy was already bringing up the screen to order me a ball joint from the warehouse whenever he saw me coming thru the door it got so bad. When one would start to go, I could feel it right at the gas pedal. REALLY pronounced when towing the bass boat.

If the tires were not Road Force balanced, it still could be the tires. Standard balancing is NOT sufficient to balance tires on a vehicle over 5.000 lbs. and Goodyears, especially OEM lines sold to vehicle manufacturers are known for belt separation issues as well. Had a set of Goodyear Wranglers on one of the ex's Grand Cherokees came with it, vibration started at 11k miles. After swearing it was the rotors (replaced them twice & not a bad guess since GC rotors used to be the worst in the world), they finally deduced it was belt separation. The dealer actually ordered a set from local tire chain, same brand/model citing they would be a higher quality than the OEs they get. Solved the issue. We ended up getting about 45k out of those tires, no vibration out of them until they started wearing uneven and I replaced them...

I can contest to the Garbage Years as well, yesterday I swapped out my GY RSA's, I had bought the rims separate with the RSA's on them.

As soon as I installed the SRT rims with the GY RSA's the Charger felt completely different, in a way. Even after having them rebalanced, really rough ride, severe vibration over any type of paved surface. Thought maybe a outer tie-rod, but they were fine, so I was sure it was the GY tires, and it was, replaced them yesterday, all issues are gone, Charger drives great again.

I'd be willing to bet with 22k on your GY's, that's probably your issue, I've even begun to notice my tires are breaking down quickly, with only 16k on them.
